(comp by Ron Miles, arr by James). Quiet arrangement of a Ron Miles ballad written for his appearance at the Central Coast Jazz Festival in 2003. This chart is intended as flugel/trumpet feature, but can be done by trombone or guitar as well. Ron has a wonderfully individual voice as a composer, and his unique sense of harmony, phrasing and metrical structure is preserved in this chart. Alto 1 doubles flute, tenor II, & bari double clarinet. Easy-to-moderate ranges for all wind instruments, though the solo flugel line requires a fairly advanced player with a solid low end and good knowledge of chord changes.
