Commissioned by Vince Wedge for the Young Sounds of Arizona Spring 2013 Meet the Composer Concert, this crowd-pleasing piece uses a basic Bb Blues form on the A sections and an I Got Rhythm bridge, with 2 separate open solo sections. The introduction uses a Sing Sing Sing groove, with trumpets in plungers and trombones in low unison, which builds into the first solo section. The saxes get a meaty full-chorus soli between the open solo sections and the piece builds to a big close. Lead trumpet to written high C. Lead trombone to written high Bb.
