Arthur Johnston (1898-1954) was an American composer and pianist, best known for his scores for film and stage, where he worked closely with Irving Berlin. His most successful song is undoubtedly the 1936 number Pennies From Heaven, with lyrics by Jonny Burke, which received an Academy Award nomination for 'Best Original Song'.
