Brian Hyland was just 16 years old when he made the first recording, hitting number one in the US charts, 'which meant I could stop riding on the subway and buy some Martin Guitars. ' In 1990 Timmy Mallet, the children's entertainer, once more took the song up with charts with a cover version released under the name of Bombalurina. The cheery melody, chirpy rhythm and catchy title are undimmed by the decades.
