Simon Holt's 1985 composition, Tauromaquia is named after a series of etchings by Goya, all of which are studies of the art of bullfighting. This piece for Piano solo was commissioned by Ian Brown, who gave the first performance in 1987, and delivers great bravura with knife-edge intensity and power. Duration 10 minutes.
