The 1st movement is the most classic in its features, but its syncopations give a hint of ragtime styling, while the 2nd movement's bluesy dotted rhythm feel and left hand melodies are suggestive of George Gershwin. The final exuberant Rondo movement is dance-like and playful, filled with jazzy seventh chords and syncopation. Students and listeners alike will be delighted with this extended solo piece.
