The 6/8 meter of this solo gives it a relaxed feel and compliments the blues style. The E minor tonal center takes on a Dorian modal sound with the use of C# in both the melody and the accompaniment. Block chords and intervals of thirds and fifths are featured throughout the right-hand melody. The left-hand accompaniment is created by a rhythmic ostinato. Written in A-B-A form with a coda, this fresh-sounding solo is certain to please anyone who enjoys the blues.
