At the Turn of the Year is a revised version (2016) of a set of four short piano studies sketched mostly between December 1991 and January 1992. The work is in four sections, all derived from the opening material; the first and fourth are similar, and the middle sections, newly reworked and expanded, are fast and scherzo-like in character.
