Transkription von Orchesterwerken für Orgel sind heutzutage sehr beliebt. Da wir quasi keine Originalkompositionen für Orgel von W. A. Mozart besitzen, es aber erwiesen ist, dass Mozart eine intensive Beziehung zur Orgel hatte, scheint es mir durchaus legitim, das eine oder andere Klavierwerk für die Realisation auf der Orgel einzurichten. Das Rondo in D für Klavier und Orchester scheint mir dazu sehr geeignet, da der originale Satz große Transparenz und Klarheit in der Instrumentation aufweist. Ich hoffe, dass viele Organist(inn)en mit Freude diese wunderbare, beschwingte Musik auf der Orgel spielen werden. She is sparing with her suggestions for registration, but they naturally make much sense, and are clearly set down with total dedication to the original composer and the kind of sounds he might have had in mind had the notion of such a transcription as this entered his head. It makes a truly delightful and surprisingly successful piece of music, the character light and airy - and it makes a welcome change of character from the rather pietistic nature of Mozart's organ sonatas.
