It's three-three-three charts in one! This extended suite (performance time approximately 11 minutes)of three sections which are related by melodic and harmonic material. Shade (part 1) is an up shuffle. Shade 2 is a ballad featuring Alto Sax, and Shades 3 is an up tempo straight ahead burner. The overall feel of the piece can best be described as 'gritty'. One of the nice things about this chart is that each section can be pulled out of thesuite and performed on its own, truly making this a versatile investment. Solos: Trpt, Alto sax, Trbn, & drums. This chart is challenging to profesional bands, yet it is within the reach of moderately strong high schools. Trumpet written to high E. Medium Difficult.
