Soloist: alto 1, tenor 1, guitar, drums. Guitar featured throughout, sets groove in opening 7/4 statement, evolves to call/response with ensemble, then solo. Backgrounds on cue, solo section can repeat for other soloists. Getting in and out of the Afro-Cuban section from the 7/4 is a rhythmic challenge. While not a high lead trumpet part, the brass parts require powerand precision.
