Roy Phillippe

George Is On My Mind

Hundreds of tunes are written over the chord progression to 'I Got Rhythm,' better known to jazzers as ''Rhythm' changes.' Roy Phillippe takes these rhythm changes from the Gershwin classic and creates a terrific jazz ensemble arrangement for the easy level. This chart is not only fun to play, but it also educates! Roy gives you an upbeat melody introduced by trumpet and alto sax; written solos for piano, trumpet, trombone and alto sax; ensemble backgrounds; flexible instrumentation; and easy swing figures throughout. When your young students dig into this easy-to-learn chart, they will know how to swing and be totally familiar with the sound of rhythm changes. By George, they've got it!
