Exciting programmatic piece from the Steve Wiest Big Band library. Based on the changes to 'Con Alma' the groove alternates between up-tempo swing and Afro-Cuban jazz. Solo sections for trombone (or treble clef instrument) soprano sax and drums. Optional double c scream parts for lead trumpet, written two ledger line C#s. Also includes a sax soli with soprano and trombone lead. 5 saxes, 8 brass, plus solo trombone amd treble clef parts. Recorded on the Arabesque Jazz release:Excalibur: The Steve Wiest Band. Difficult.
