Even 8ths contemporary chart in 11/4 (6/6 + 5/4) in the style of the Dave Holland's Bid Band, with solo sections for piano and fluegel horn in 7/4 & 4/4 broken ECM. El Nino is a very challenging and exciting chart for the full ensemble, especially for the rhythm section, which should make the primary 11/4 groove feel as 4/4. Scored for 5 trumpets, 5 trombones, 5 saxes, and 4 rhythm, with optional vibes part. Lead trumpet to concert E.
