'Hereditas' was commissioned by the Norwegian school band, Lilleaker Skoles Musikkorps for their 110th anniversary in 2019.
The piece begins with a fanfare to celebrate the band. The theme continues and develops into different rhythmic patters inspired by the name of the band.
'Hereditas' is the latin word for 'inheritance / heritage', which is central for the Norwegian school band who's been active since 1909.
