PASTORALE FOR TENOR TROMBONE, BASS TROMBONE AND PIANO is an arrangement of the middle movement of an ealier work BALLADE, PASTORALE AND DANCE FOR FLUTE, HORN IN F AND PIANO, composed in the winter of 1992-93. The PASTORALE, written during the winter holidays, has a gentle and impressionistic feel, with long, beautiful and personal songs are sung by both the tenor and bass trombone. PASTORALE has been recorded by trombonists Nick Hudson and Douglas Yeo with pianist David Chapman on a recording entitled 'Two of a Mind', on the Egon label, catalog number SFZ 107.
