Commissioned by Michelle Batty Stanley and the Colorado State University Flute Choir for the 2017 National Flute Association Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From the composer: 'Whether the rising of great mountains caused by the crashing of tectonic plates or the elevation of the soul, Uplift can be interpreted as the transformation of the featureless to something with contour. It's a journey from the nothing to something, from dark to light, or from lost to found.'
