The peoples 'visited' by the mostly self-taught composer exhibit characteristics or peculiarities generally associated with each culture. Movements include: Ouverture, Minuet I & II, Les Turcs, Les Suisses, Les Moscovites, Les Portugais, Les Boiteux, and Les Coureurs.
