Gilles Carré was born in 1956 in Geneva. He was awarded a 1er Prix for flute at the Aubervilliers Regional Conservatoire, then went on to pass his state teaching diplomas.His compositions inclure many chamber works for a variety of ensembles and instruments. Some bave been commissioned (the State, Adiam, town sourcils, music schools, ensembles, soloists, etc.).His works have been published by various publishers. He was part of the S.I.C. (Situation: Interprètes et compositeurs) ensemble from 1990 to 1993 and created the Rivages group in 1999.As a flute player, he performs chamber music, mainly the contemporain repertoire.He has taught in various conservatoiries, in particular flute and chamber music at the Cachan branch of the Val de Bièvre Regional Conservatoire where he has been Director since January 2008.Translation: Elisabeth Guill
