The Twelve Fantasies were written about 1732, during the height of Telemann's career and faithfully depict his movement away from the Baroque into freer forms, giving an improvisatory and somewhat spontaneous feeling to theseworks. These solo fantasies of Telemann have been beloved late Baroque works by flutists for centuries. Their beauty and incredible interpretive opportunities are offered to clarinetists in this wonderful transcription by SidneyForrest. The edition includes notes and errata by celebrated clarinetist Kathryne Pirtle, who released the world premiere recording of this transcription in 2017 on her independent solo album, Teleman Twelve Fantasias Transcribedfor Clarinet Solo.
