'This little suite is drawn from the score of a music-theater work for children. Movements II and IV are based on my settings of poems in the Gwich'in Athabascan dialect, written by Adeline Peter Raboff.
The title is borrowed from the book by Richard K. Nelson about the Koyukon Athabascan people and the profound connections between their cultural traditions and the land in which they live'. - John Luther Adams
