Descrizione:
Castor und Pollux ist ein Tanzwerk, das die Geschichte von Leda mit dem Schwan und die Geburt der Zwillinge Castor und Pollux erzählt. Partchs Partitur besteht aus zwei Hälften, jeweils eine davon für jeden der Zwillinge. Die ersten drei Szenen jeder Hälfte sind für zwei Instrumente geschrieben und werden von zwei Tänzern dargestellt. In der letzten Szene Chor der Geburt aus dem Ei agieren alle sechs Musiker und sechs Tänzer gleichzeitig: eine dynamische Überlagerung von Rhythmus, Melodik und Harmonik.
