Daniel Smutny empfindet sich als ein Wanderer zwischen verschiedensten musikalischen Welten. Der 1976 geborene Komponist überwindet dabei Genregrenzen, bezieht elektronische Klangkunst und zeitgenössische Avantgardetechniken mit ein und entwickelt daraus eine höchst individuelle Klangsprache. Sein erster Beitrag zur Königsgattung der Kammermusik, das Streichquartett Nr. 1, entstand im Jahr 2009. Scheinbar dem klassischen Formmodell folgend hat sein Streichquartett Nr. 1 vier Sätze, die in sich aber stets anders entwickeln als erwartet. --------------------------------------------------------- Daniel Smutny considers himself a wanderer between the most widely differing musical worlds. The composer, born in 1976, overcomes genre boundaries, including electronic sound-art and contemporary avant-garde techniques in his work and developing a highly individual musical language out of them. His first contribution to the king of chamber music genres, String Quartet No. 1, was composed in 2009. Apparently following the classical formal model, the String Quartet No. 1 has four movements each of which, however, always develops differently within itself from what is expected.
