Melodia Blues, a swinging composition by Peter Kleine Schaars begins with a robust intro. Four bars follow, which can be repeated ad lib. to allow for an optional announcement (this is the so-called VAMP). The blues theme follows along with two written-out improvisations. These can be expanded - depending on the resources within your band. After a richly scored reprise of the theme, the sparkling final chords close the piece in style.
