Commissioned for the Kantorei of the Chapel of the Resurrection, Dr. Lorraine S. Brugh, director, Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ohio. Completed in August, 2015, the work received its premiere performance on Friday, December 11, 2015 at two evening services at the Lutheran Chapel of the Resurrection-one of the world's largest chapels-before a combined congregation of more than 3000. The chosen theme for this annual advent event was nature, birth and growth. Tara Wohlberg's ecumenical text, written especially for the occasion, is appropriate for either Christmas or general programming. The setting features lyrical melodic material, developed in gently flowing homophonic andcontrapuntal textures, supported by the substantial piano accompaniment. -Stephen ChatmanDuration: 3:35
