The beauty of unison female voices is heard in the first stanza of this engaging melody by Herb Frombach. Alluding to "Angels We Have Heard on High" in the accompaniment, a fragment of the hymn tune i s used for modulation into the second stanza. Solid four-part singing in the next section is followed by a soft restatement of the opening phrase, "Once upon a midnight."
