Chorbuch für gemischten Chor a cappella oder mit Orgel (Chorleiterband mit CD)
Die Chortradition der britischen Kathedralen und Universitäten ist weltberühmt. Über die Jahrhunderte ist auf der Insel ein immenser Schatz an musikalischen Kostbarkeiten entstanden: klangschöne Chorsätze, die sich mittlerweile auch auf dem Festland großer Beliebtheit erfreuen.
Für das Chorbuch 'English Choral Music. Motets and Anthems from Byrd to Elgar' haben die Herausgeber Richard Mailänder und Christopher Robinson 40 herausragende Motetten und Anthems aus dem 16. bis 19. Jahrhundert zusammengetragen. Die vier- bis fünfstimmigen Sätze a cappella oder mit obligater Orgel eignen sich hierzulande besonders für Gottesdienste und Kirchenkonzerte. Die Komponisten des goldenen Zeitalters der englischen Musik - Thomas Tallis, Willliam Byrd und Orlando Gibbons - sind ebenso vertreten wie die Barockmeister Henry Purcell und William Boyce sowie das 19. Jahrhundert mit u. a. Samuel Sebastian Wesley, Charles Villiers Stanford, Hubert Parry und Edward Elgar. Zum besseren Verständnis sind den Noten deutsche Übersetzungen der englischen Texte beigegeben.
Das Chorbuch erscheint als Chorleiterband mit CD, eingespielt vom Figuralchor Köln, sowie als preisgünstige Ausgabe für den Chor (editionchor, ohne Orgel).
