Edward Margetson was born in St. Kitts, British West Indies, immigrating to the United States in 1919. One of only a few published choral works by the composer, A few more years shall roll sets a hymn by Horatius Bonar that was written for his congregation to use on New Year's Day. Margetson's setting is characterized by imitation and powerful word-painting.
