Du selber bist das Rad (You Yourself Are the Wheel) unites profound spiritual poetry with masterful choral composition. This work features three expressive motets based on poignant epigrams by the Baroque mystic Angelus Silesius, arranged for four-part mixed choir (SATB) a cappella. The settings sensitively capture the philosophical depth and spiritual power of the historical verses, unfolding a moving and multifaceted choral sound. Ranging from contemplative introspection to expressive harmonic intensity, this cycle offers ambitious choirs the perfect opportunity to showcase their tonal refinement and emotional nuance. Published as a high-quality choral score by Edition Peters, this edition is an indispensable companion for rehearsals. Whether in sacred concerts, liturgical services, or festival vocal performances, this piece is an inspiring addition to any dedicated choir's repertoire.
