This setting of the poem Faldang attempts to capture the flavour of the fiddle tunes referred to in the text with the zestiness of meter changes and no-diatonic excursions. Above all else, it should be sung in the spirit of fun, for the songs and the times reflected in the poem were shared at happy social gatherings. Fiddle players are invited to spice up the suggestions in the score as they wish.
