An excellent holiday piece for an outdoor summer concert. Reviewed in the International Trombone Association Journal, Vol. XII, No. 2, April 1984, p. 57: 'excellent addition to the brass quintet literature, 'noreal difficulties in this work, 'the optional percussion adds a little extra frosting to the piece very effectively, 'the work is written in a style similar to the numerous Scott Joplin quintetarrangements currently published, yet Dr. Jolly's Quick Step is original and makes for a fine encore piece or just a change of pace selection for a brass quintet concert.
