John Tavener 's Schuon Lieder is a work of 6 songs arranged for Voice and Piano by the composer, with words by Frithjof Schuon. This version was first performed at the Wigmore Hall in London on 28th September 2007. A full performance of this Score lasts around 17 minutes. The original version of this work, for Voice, Percussion, Piano and String Quartet, was performed at the Cheltenham Festival on 16th July 2004. The 6 songs in this score are settings of poems by Frithjof Schuon, translated by Catherine Schuon. Schuon was a foremost a metaphysician, but also a gifted painter and poet.
