Canciones Del Teatro De Garcia Lorca is a collection of songs from the stage works of the Spanish playwright Frederico Garcia Lorca. They have been set to music by Gustavo Pittaluga andarranged for Voice and Guitar by Jose Caballero.
Frederico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936) was a Spanish writer of plays and poems, and is one of Spain's most widely recognised contributors to the visual andtextual arts. He came to epitomise the generation of '27, and as such was also one of the leading cultural icons of his day.
Gustavo Pittaluga (1906-1975) was a Spanish composer and writer. He was influencedbyFalla, but fought to overcome the Nationalism that had defined Spanish music, modernising it and bringing it into the post-war era.
