Although this piece is written by bassist Mark King of Level 42 as far back as in the early 80's (album Strategy), this is a melody that are often used where bass-players will put each other on trial.
To the conductor
This arrangement is adapted so that a common band can do it. Many groups can enjoy the challenges of a real Funk tune. Solo parts may be given to musicians who wish to improvise, even though it initially works best with a duel between the bass player and the drummer.
There is a guitar part which is optional.
