The 'Klipp-Klapp Galopp' ('Click-clack Gallop') is a quick polka by Johann Strauss. The polka was created according to the motifs of the operetta 'Waldmeister' ('Woodruff') and is part of a series of compositions that take up all the themes from this operetta. The gallop's title and principal theme derive from the Act I ensemble, 'Klipp, klapp, klipp, klapp, rasch dem Glücke nach'. There, the actors flee into a mill from a storm. In this mill scene, Strauss used a topic that he had sketched in his youth in the face of a mill. This very topic has now become the main theme of this polka. The premiere on February 10, 1896 took place as part of the carnival ball of the journalists' association 'Concordia'. Itallian arranger Matteo Firmi transcribed this 'Klipp-Klapp Galopp' for Symphonic Band.
