The Norwegian folk song 'Jeg lagde meg sa silde' is from a small place called Vaga. The story is heartwrenchingly sad and the melody so beautiful and dreaming. The story is about a young man who gets called upon by his girlfriend to come right away. When he gets there the girl is dead and his heart brakes into pieces.
To the Conductor
The arrangement is originally written for recorder and windband. Alto- and sopraninorecorder is used, but naturally you can use flute, trumpet or any other discant instrument. Why not perform it with a solo singer with the Nowegian lyrics. Adjust the expressions and minimize the band if you need.
