Wilhelm Stenhammar (1871-1927) was a Swedish composer, conductor and pianist.
In 1897 Stenhammar composed his '4 svenska sånger' (4 Swedish Songs) of which the fourth song, 'Fylgia', has become well-known on its own and is even nowadays performed regularly.
American arranger Douglas McLain arranged this song for Alto Saxophone solo with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band.
