The Simoon Concerto is a two part composition for alto saxaphone and wind orcehstra. The first part, Dance of the Dunes, describes how the sand dunes form and alter their shape due to the scorching desert winds. In the following section, Dance of the Tuaregs, the snare drum signals the start of the dance of the legendary nomadic desert dwellers. The proud Tuareg people dance according to the ancient traditional rhythms of their ancestors
