Tango is a dance style piece for Violin and Piano, written by Poldowski. They were composed for the Violin virtuoso Pawel Kochanski (1887-1934).
Poldowski was pen name of the Belgian-British composer and pianist Regine Wieniawski, later Lady Dean Paul (1879-1932). She studied Piano at Brussels, London, and Paris, and started performed her own compositions at the age of 14. Sheinitially adopted the pseudonym in order to pose as a male, but later cast of the anonymity, even performing under the false name. She is best remembered for her chamber compositions, and the many songs she wrote, both in English and in French.
