This collection was conceived and edited to help expand the very meager repertoire for Double Bass Quartet. By having chosen well-known composers, bassists can experience playing parts from some of the greatest works ever written, with a focus on creating a beautiful blend of intonation and tone quality as in a fine string quartet. An effort was made to create a good balance among the parts. Solo lines are divided among all four parts, thus giving each player a solo opportunity. This volume consists of five titles by famous American ragtime composer, Scott Joplin, including: The Crush Collision March, Maple Leaf Rag, The Easy Winners, The Entertainer, and The Strenuous Life.
